Applications are now open for our Regional Recovery Support Program II.
We’re thrilled to announce the launch of the second phase of our Regional Recovery Support Program, building upon the successful outcomes and impact of the grants provided through the first initiative. The program, launched alongside our partner the Support Foundation for Civil Society, will support civil society organisations working to mitigate the impact of the earthquakes and improve the well-being of survivors by addressing long-term needs in thematic areas such as children’s rights, gender equality, and culture & arts.
We have launched the first phase of the Regional Recovery Support Program to foster lasting change in the earthquake-affected regions. Phase one supported the long-term interventions of 19 local CSOs across 14 cities in Türkiye with over £1,6 million in grants. The projects focused on restoring livelihoods and employment, access to healthcare and education, and providing specialised support (psychosocial, legal, etc.) to improve the well-being of women, youth and children, while also meeting ongoing fundamental needs in earthquake-affected areas.
The projects supported by this program targeted a wide range of different groups. They include adolescents, women, and girls vulnerable to gender-based violence and abuse, children dealing with limb loss, teachers serving in the affected regions, farmers, women’s cooperatives supporting local producers, healthcare workers, professionals, volunteers, as well as other CSOs operating on the ground. This comprehensive approach ensures a targeted and multifaceted response to the diverse needs prevalent in the affected areas.
