Donor Advised Fund

The Donor Advised Fund consists of grants given to civil society organisations that are brought forward at the request of our donors and board members. These requests are discussed based on the same selection criteria as all other grantees and the charities are supported upon approval by Turkey Mozaik Foundation Board.

Bir İZ Association (Birey ve Toplum Ruh Sağlığında İZ Derneği)

Bir IZ Association, which works to ensure that preventive mental health services are accessible to all segments of society, contributes to the accessibility of mental health services for the whole society by carrying out projects centred on individual empowerment, especially for women, refugees, children and the elderly.

Senex | Association for Aging Studies (Senex | Yaşlanma Çalışmaları Derneği)

Focusing on ageing studies, SENEX develops learning programmes, advocacy and academic studies, scientific research, arts activities and monitoring studies programmes with a human rights sensitive and gender mainstreaming approach.

TEOS Culture & Arts Association (TEOS Kültür & Sanat Derneği)

TEOS adopts the idea of an equitable and universalist world among species that prioritises protecting cultural heritage and ecological sustainability, considers gender diversity and equality, focuses on solidarity with local, regional, and international networks, and aims to increase local/regional capacity.

Peace Children Orchestra Conservation and Development Association (Barış Çocuk Orkestrası Koruma ve Geliştirme Derneği)

Peace Children’s Orchestra, established in Izmir, aims to provide free music education to especially socioeconomically disadvantaged children who live in the ghetto areas of Izmir where crime rates are high and the education and income rates of families are low.

Young LGBTI+ Association (Genç LGBTİ+ Derneği)

Young LGBTI+ Association was established in Izmir to research the problems of LGBTI+ youth, to bring these problems to the agenda, to offer solutions and to open spaces for LGBTI+ youth to express themselves.

Colourful Hopes Association (Rengarenk Umutlar Derneği-RUMUD)

RUMUD develops and implements socio-psychological and cultural projects to provide equal cultural and social opportunities for children and women who are affected by the conflicts in the Sur-Diyarbakır region. The association organises workshops on arts, gender equality, and respect for differences with children and has a toy library through which children can access toys for free.

Rural Schools Transformation Network (Köy Okulları Değişim Ağı-KODA)

KODA works to improve the quality of rural education in Turkey by supporting teachers and students, and to implement an innovative understanding of education that will support rural development. The association implements the Teacher Communities Project through which rural school teachers stay connected by increasing solidarity among themselves, learning how to benefit from each other’s experiences, and developing professionally and personally with various trainings.

DOĞÇEV (Doğa ve Çevreyi Koruma, Yaşatma Derneği)

DOGÇEV aims to support the preservation of nature and the ecological system via their work in rehabilitation and caring for animals that need basic care such as food and shelter. DOGÇEV’s work provided support for the basic food and healthcare needs for the animals in their care. They also were able to continue their work in the preservation of the nearby forests.

Open Space Association (Açık Alan Derneği)

Open Space Association works in the fields of socio-cultural empowerment and poverty, by organising workshops and training programs with a rights-based perspective, especially for Roma children, youth, and women, and conducting field research to carry out advocacy activities on eliminating poverty. The Association established the Deep Poverty Network (Derin Yoksulluk Agı, DYA) in March 2020, to combat extreme poverty, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Olive Seeds Association organizes music, creative arts and sport workshops to support the development of children and youth from rural and disadvantaged areas of Ayvalık.

Couple and Family Therapy Association in Turkey
(Çift ve Aile Terapileri Derneği)

Couple and Family Therapy Association in Turkey aims to support healthy relationships by raising awareness on issues such as parenting, communication, child abuse and domestic violence in schools, municipalities, other community settings and social media. The volunteers take an active role in intervening in traumatic situations and advocates for children’s and women’s rights in consulting state policies. As a professional association, ÇATED also promotes the development of couple and family therapy and systemic thinking in Turkey by training professionals, conducting research and creating publications.

Tanısan Seversin Derneği

This association implements animal rehabilitation and training programmes for stray dogs and cats in Turkey.

Clean Clothes Campaign
(Temiz Giysi Kampanyası)

Clean Clothes Campaign is dedicated to support and improve working conditions for workers in the global garment and sportswear industries. Temiz Giysi is part of the Clean Clothes Campaign, an international coalition of 200 organisations involved in activities across 15 European countries since 1989.

KuzeyDoga Association
(KuzeyDoğa Derneği)

KuzeyDoğa Association is an organisation that is striving for the proliferation of community-based nature conservation work in the developing world and aims to increase the awareness and efficiency of local people and the private sector in protecting biodiversity. The project focuses on collecting bird biodiversity data, promote environmental education, village-based ecotourism and community-based wetland conservation at internationally important Aras River Bird Paradise, Yukari Ciyrikli village, Igdir, Turkey.

Team International Assistance for Integration (TIAFI)

TIAFI aims to empower vulnerable / refugee women and their families. Based in Izmir, TIAFI provides one-to-one support to all refugees who seek help; offers Child Care Services for women who need to work to support themselves and their families; and has a community center with a charity shop, an open kitchen, a sports room for children and a hobby room for women, helping families to build up their lives again.
