We are delighted to share the recipients of this year’s Institutional Fund grants, which will provide critical support to four civil society organisations across Türkiye.
This year, the fund focused on strengthening the organisational capacities of civil society organisations dedicated to enhancing the social inclusion and well-being of disadvantaged communities.
The call for applications received an impressive 163 applications from 39 cities across Türkiye. Following a rigorous selection process, in collaboration with the Support Foundation for Civil Society (Sivil Toplum için Destek Vakfı) and the Dalyan Foundation, a total of £66,440 (2.922.146 TL) has been awarded to four organisations for the 2024-25 period. Turkey Mozaik Foundation contributed £48,273 to this funding cycle.
Meet our grantee partners and learn about their initiatives:
Armaş Foundation (Armaş Vakfı)
Armaş Foundation addresses the growing ecological and environmental challenges stemming from the climate crisis. The foundation collaborates with youth, women, social entrepreneurs, and civil society actors to foster skills and solutions in the field of ecology. Its physical space is utilised for workshops and training that promote knowledge-sharing and capacity-building.
With grant support of £18,167, the foundation aims to enhance its financial sustainability by strengthening its commercial enterprise, forming new partnerships, and implementing impact-monitoring strategies. The grant will support the employment of a Director and cover consultancy and operational expenses.
Children First Association (Önce Çocuklar Derneği)
Established in Diyarbakır in 2017, Children First Association advocates for children’s rights, focusing on their physical, mental, and cultural development. The organisation champions key rights such as access to education, health, and protection from exploitation, while promoting cultural and linguistic diversity.
With grant support of £12,846, the association will improve its financial sustainability by engaging new donors and corporate partners to support its Culture & Arts Centre in Adıyaman. The grant will cover rental expenses for its main workspace and contribute to expanding volunteer relations and advocacy efforts.
Istanbul Mor Dayanışma Association (Istanbul Mor Dayanışma Derneği)
Istanbul Mor Dayanışma Association addresses women’s rights, gender equality, and urban rights through feminist policies and programs. It offers psychosocial, legal, and health-related consultancy services and engages in cultural and advocacy initiatives through its commissions.
With grant support of £18,053, the association will strengthen its financial sustainability by increasing donations and membership fees, launching social entrepreneurship projects, and exploring new fundraising opportunities. The grant will support a General Coordinator’s salary and expenses such as rent, communications, and consultancy services.
Women’s State of Solidarity Association (Dayanışmanın Kadın Hali Derneği – DAKAHDER)
Founded in 2018 in Diyarbakır, DAKAHDER is a women-led organisation dedicated to gender equality, combating gender-based violence, and empowering women and LGBTQ+ individuals. The organisation has pioneered initiatives such as gender equality academies, sexual violence prevention festivals, and women-focused media projects, alongside focusing on gender-equal practices in disaster-affected regions, policy development, and increasing the capacities of local civil society organisations through training programs.
With grant support of £17,374, DAKAHDER will work on its financial sustainability by diversifying its resources, improving its fundraising strategies, and enhancing its financial management capacity through the integration of software and staff training. The grant will fund the hiring of a full-time Financial Coordinator.
About our Institutional Fund
The Institutional Fund is designed to strengthen the organisational core capacities of CSOs by covering essential costs such as rent, human resources, and expert support. In addition, the fund offers tailor-made capacity-building initiatives, providing mentoring and expert guidance in areas such as financial sustainability, organisational management, network and partnership building, volunteer engagement, communications, advocacy, and impact measurement, in collaboration with the Support Foundation for Civil Society.
