The year 2024 was a transformative one for Turkey Mozaik Foundation. It marked a continuation of our commitment to address the long-term impacts of the devastating February 6, 2023, earthquakes. Through our grant programs, we focused on supporting survivors and rebuilding affected areas, while resuming our regular grant cycles to support broader civil society initiatives.
2024 Highlights
Supporting Civil Society Through Diverse Funds
So far in 2024, thanks to your generous support, we have distributed over £900,000 to 45 civil society organisations. Alongside continuing grants under our Emergency Relief Fund, we have relaunched our thematic funds to support critical areas, such as children’s rights, gender equality, environmental sustainability, organisational capacity building, culture and arts, and animal rights, as well as providing donor-advised grants.
We initiated the second phase of our Regional Recovery Support Program, under our Kahramanmaraş Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund, to mitigate the long-term impact of the earthquakes on the survivors and the affected areas. The program awarded £527,668 to 11 civil society organisations thanks to contributions from donors and partners like Sounds of Solidarity, Christie’s in cooperation with IKSV, and Cradle of Food International Food Conference.
In partnership with the Turquoise Coast Environment Fund, the Support Foundation for Civil Society, and the Turkish Philanthropy Funds, we supported seven environmental projects in the earthquake-affected provinces of Hatay, Adana, and Mersin, to rejuvenate coastal ecosystems, restore marine habitats, and foster sustainable food systems—critical measures to counter the ecological impacts of the disaster.
