Report of our Small Grants Program is published

We present you the report of our Small Grants Program offering an insightful overview of the activities undertaken and the outcomes achieved by the projects initiated by our program’s grantees.

It has been six months since the devastating earthquakes that shook southeastern Türkiye and northern Syria. In the aftermath of this disaster, our immediate response was the establishment of the Kahramanmaras Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund. With unwavering support from our community of friends and donors, we rallied to provide more than £2.5 million in grants across 65 projects led by local civil society organisations (CSOs).

The Small Grants Program was initiated under the Kahramanmaras Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund, aimed at providing support for local organisations engaged in short-term, targeted projects with the expertise, capacity, and know-how to make a meaningful impact within their communities. Through this Program, a total of £167,100 (TRY 3.783.170) was allocated to 26 local CSOs.

The open call was shared by our local partner, the Support Foundation for Civil Society (Sivil Toplum için Destek Vakfı) on February 10. In just one week, the call received an overwhelming response of 386 applications meeting the technical criteria, originating from 55 provinces across Türkiye.

The grants expedited the ability of local CSOs to promptly assess critical needs and intervene to support survivors. The chosen organisations effectively utilised the grants within a 2-4 month timeframe (February-May), with the majority of expenditures occurring in February and March. For deeper insights into the results, outcomes, and projects of our grantees, we invite you to read the Small Grants Program Report.

We are proud to have played a role in the process of rebuilding lives and communities across Türkiye. Our commitment remains steadfast as we continue to work towards supporting sustainable recovery endeavours and addressing ongoing needs in diverse areas.
