We provided direct grants to 5 civil society organisations from our Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund

We provided 5 new direct grants thanks to your generous support for our Kahramanmaras Earthquake Emergency Relief Fund:

With the grant support of GBP 100,000, Support to Life Association will provide 151 family-size winterised tents to families affected by the earthquakes and in need of shelter. The families will be identified through rapid assessments by STL teams who are on the ground in Hatay, Kahramanmaras, and Adiyaman. The grant will support approximately 755 individuals.

With the grant support of GBP 61,100, Women’s Coalition, through the Association for Women’sFreedom and Equality (Kadınlara Özgürlük ve Eşitlik Derneği), with the member women’s organisations of its Disaster Coordination Network throughout Türkiye, will identify needs in the earthquake-affected region and in the provinces where survivors have relocated, develop solutions by forming collaborations to ensure access to resources for survivors, support the capacity building of local women’s organisations working on the ground, collect data for monitoring, advocate for the elimination of rights violations, and develop policy recommendations for the improvement of services.

With the grant support of GBP 61,100, Basic Needs Association will identify the needs of its 11 foodbanks in Adana, Adiyaman, Gaziantep, Hatay, Malatya, Osmaniye, and Sanliurfa, support them by providing the necessary products and mobilise donors for further support. It is estimated that over 300,000 people will benefit from the food banks in the provinces directly affected by the earthquake. In addition, TİDER will provide support for the food banks in the provinces where earthquake survivors have migrated to and support the survivors to find jobs through its Support HR system.

With the grant support of GBP 57,000, the Turkish Psychological Association Istanbul Branch will provide psychosocial support for six months to increase the well-being and resilience of survivors at the Psychosocial Support Centre to be established in Osmaniye, one of the provinces affected by the earthquake.

With the grant support of GBP 60,900, Hand in Hand Federation will provide remote psychosocial support to 300 foster families and 150 children in foster care who are affected by the earthquakes, provide online psychosocial support to 590 families who want to become foster parents for unaccompanied children and provide online training consisting of six modules to 3,000 families who have applied to become foster parents.
